Thomas Absher Obituary
Tom was born in Gaston County, on June 18, 1947, a son of the late Evan Absher and Julia Armstrong Absher.
He was retired from FMC Lithium in Bessemer City and was currently working at Walmart in Shelby.
Tom was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Bessemer City.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Absher Rudisill.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Priscilla Carnes Absher of the home; a son, Ricky Absher of Grover; a daughter, Valerie Adams, of Sweetwater, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Karen McSwain of the home; a brother, Grady Absher of Greensboro; a sister, Joyce Bailey of Charleston, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Bailey officiating.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church St., Charlotte, NC 28202.

Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Absher.
