Timothy Branch Obituary

STANLEY- Timothy Douglas Branch, (Tim) of Stanley, passed away at CaroMont Regional Hospital in Gastonia on Jan. 3, 2014, after experi-encing a heart attack.
Tim was 51 years old.
Tim was born Dec. 21, 1962 and graduated from East Gaston High School in 1980. He went on to serve in the US Navy as an Aviation Electri-cian. He then achieved his General Certification by North Carolina Justice Academy and worked for Stanley Police Department from 1984-2009, last ranking as a Lieutenant.
During his service there, he achieved numerous certifications including Management Development Program, (MDP) for which he received a letter of accommodation from then North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue. Tim was a member of Lowell Masonic Lodge.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Cierra Nicole Branch of Stanley, Sister Judy Bates of Boger City, brother Buddy Branch, and wife Lisa of Stanley, Sister Anita McCall and husband Chuck McCall of Lincolnton, Brittany McDaniel, niece Jessica Alps and Jason Gibson, nephew.
Tim loved living in the town of Stanley. He treasured the citizens, and his charity will forever be remembered by many.
He spent much of his life talking or visiting with people, listening to a friend in distress, or aiding someone in need.
He enjoyed cooking and creating his own dishes, often sharing with those he adored. Tim cared deeply for his family.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, Roy J. Branch (Bud) and mother, Faye Shives Branch of Stanley.
A private family service will be held.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his companion Angela Norkett. She gave him happiness, encouragement and love in his final days.
In his words, "I'm happier than I've been in years."
The family would like to thank all the emergency personnel who assisted Tim on the day of the event. Lastly, the family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CaroMont Regional Hospital for their compassion in such a difficult time.
Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the family. Condolence messages may be sent to the family at www.woodlawnfuneral.org.

Cierra,
I am so very sorry to hear that your dad passed away. He and I worked night shift together for a while and I sat with him one night and picked out your name before you were born. He loved you even before you were born and was a proud dad the day you were born. He couldn't stop talking about you. I know you you will miss him very much but remember that he is in heaven looking down upon you and will always love you.

I was honored to work under him for many years and I learned so much from him. I always knew where I stood with Tim... good, bad, or indifferent. He ALWAYS stood up for his people and I admired that. I pray for God's mercy on his family during this time. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." - Matthew 5:4

IN MEMORY OF TIM BRANCH

HE is not dead. he's just gone home.
And it feels like he has left you all alone.
But don't think too long of your grief and pain.
Try to focus instead on heaven's gain.

Picture Tim there on heaven's shore
Living with our Savior whom we all adore.
he knows no more pain, no more sorrow
And we'll see him again some sweet tomorrow.

Try to remember the good times you all have had.
And you know he wouldn't want you to be so sad.
Remember the laughter and forget the tears.
Remember the happiness all through the years.

he had a good life; and those who are left grieving ~~
Well, we just have to go on and keep on believing
That we'll all be together some day forever more
And live life eternally on heaven's bright shore.

No, he's not dead. he's just gone home.MY PRAYER ARE WITH HIS FAMILY BENNY

For 29 years of my life, I was honored to call you my friend, you were always a constant in my life and I am very grateful for our time we spent together both on and off duty......you were a great Boss. I had the most fun riding in the police car and running calls with you, I was amazed that you knew exactly how many street lights there were in town, and for every one that went out you made sure it was repaired, you were always professional and the Town of Stanley was the better for it, never realized all those days with you would become a memory....I miss you, but knowing that you are at peace, and being comforted by those who have gone on before you, means I don't have to worry if you're okay anymore, and that gives me peace and comfort.....Thank you for always being there for me! I will always love you!!
