Christopher Fiorelli Obituary

Christopher Fiorelli

Worcester, MA - Christopher Fiorelli, 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, after a long illness. He was born in Northampton, son of Barbara Kirchner and the late Arthur Fiorelli. Chris was a graduate of Amherst High School and the University of Rochester, with a degree in Engineering. As a young man, Chris traveled extensively throughout Europe living and working in Germany. Some of his fondest memories were the months he spent working at Glacier National Park.

Chris struggled with schizoaffective disorder for many years. In his final years, he resided at Worcester Recovery Center where he never gave up hope of overcoming his illness. The staff there worked tirelessly to enhance his dignity and quality of life. When Chris lived in Northampton he was cared for by ServiceNet. No doubt many there will remember him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Alliance for The Mentally Ill (NAMI) headquartered in Washington DC, with a local western Massachusetts chapter.

Chris was adored by his family, and leaves behind his mother, Barbara Kirchner, two sisters, Robin and Lisa Fiorelli, and their families, all of whom now reside in Northern California. In addition, several stepfamilies supported him over the years and provided much solace, including The Colcord family and Platt family of Western MA, as well as the Starret family of NH. A memorial service will be held at a later date. May you rest in peace Christopher, beloved son, brother, family member and friend.
