Hazel R. Snopek

South Hadley, MA - Hazel R. Snopek, 77, passed away June 16, 2023. Born in Holyoke on July 3, 1945, she was the daughter of Stanley A. and Jacqueline R. (Bibeau) Snopek. Hazel has lived in South Hadley for most of her life before relocating to Orchard Valley in Wilbraham four and a half years ago. She worked in the town assessor's office in many capacities through the years before being elected as an assessor. Hazel was an active communicant of St. Patick's Church in South Hadley. She previously sang in the choir, helped at bingo and spaghetti dinners along with being a member of the ladies' guild. Hazel is survived by her brother, Paul Snopek and his wife Joanne of Hampden along with sister-in-laws, Virginia Snopek and Sylvia Snopek. Hazel also leaves nieces and nephews, Lynn Mercier and her husband Chuck, Joe and Craig Snopek, Kristen Starin and her husband Tom as well as Kevin and Samantha Snopek along with many great nieces, great nephews and extended family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph R. Snopek in 2000 and Michael S. Snopek on 2016 . Visitation will be Friday, June 23 from 9-11 a.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
