John Diemand Obituary
John was born Oct. 23, 1926, the son of the late Margaret Wentzel and Raymond Diemand. John retired Dec. 31, 1986, having worked for 40 years at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School as the farm superintendent overseeing farm operations.
John is survived by his three devoted children, Sue Schack and her husband Ron, Peter Diemand and his wife Coleen and Joanne Feutral and her husband Larry, brothers Tom and Will, and sister Louise. Better known as "Gramps", he will be missed by his grandchildren for whom he adored, Kerry, Matthew, Seth, Sean, Sarah and John.
Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home on Bridge Road, Northampton. Funeral services will begin Saturday, Sept. 5, at 9 a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home followed by a church service at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Church, Beacon Street, Florence. Burial immediately following at the St. Mary's Cemetery on Bridge Road.

My sister Terry Everett worked with John at Smith School. I remember meeting him when I visited my sister there. Terry spoke very highly of him and will miss him. She thought of him as a 2nd dad. My thoughts go out to your family at this difficult time.

Sue, Peter and Joanne,
We are so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I really enjoyed our time working together at Smith School way back from 1969-1974. I'll always remember puzzling projects out with him when eventually he would say, "Don't tell me cause I know." I'm sure you must have heard that as well. And usually he did know. I know these days are hard but soon you all will just have many happy memories. Thinking of you all.
