Linda Patterson Obituary
Born Jan. 20, 1947, in Northampton, she was the daughter of Belle (Orechia) Himmelman and the late Harry Himmelman. A graduate of Northampton High School in 1965, she later graduated from the Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School L.P.N program and went on to practice at Hampshire Manor and Loomis House nursing facilities, where she was loved for her caring demeanor, knowledge of the medical field and disarming sense of humor.
She leaves her partner, Richard Lavalle of Easthampton; her mother, Belle (Orechia) Himmelman of Leeds; a sister, Susan E. Himmelman and her husband Ralph Evans of Braintree; a brother, George Himmelman and his wife Susan Himmelman of North Carolina; a son, James Patterson and his wife Sandy Patterson of Southampton; a daughter, Laurie (Patterson) Kline of Easthampton; and two grandsons, Brian and Matthew Patterson of Southampton.
There will be a small gathering for family and friends on Wednesday, April 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home, 18 Adams St. in Easthampton, which has been entrusted with proving for Linda's care and services. The family encourages attendees to bring a remembrance picture and a story of Linda to be shared with others.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of the Fisher Home, 1165 North Pleasant St, Amherst, MA 01002.

I will miss you. My heart is heavy. I have never known anyone as fun loving an compassionate as you. You had the ability to make people smile when they didnt feel like it, you made people feel good even if they didnt. I will probably never know another person like you. I am so proud to have known you. The world needs more nurses like you now more than ever. You re deeply missed but never forgotten

I just found out that you were gone. Heaven has quite the new addition ! You were one of a kind,truly. We had some laughs now didn't we. And as best I can,I will endeavor to remember the smile, the giggle, the eye Rolling, and the kindness. The kindness that you shared with your residents, your staff, your co-workers and your friends and family.I will however try to erase that freaky leprechaun costume, and yes the gorilla too!!
I'm grateful for our last visit. I wish we could have squeezed in that picnic you requested,we will just have to wait until we meet again. Until that day you will remain in my heart. I look at reminders of you everyday. The painting of my house, my 50th birthday socks,and my Christmas cactuses which began to bloom last week by the way. It's the first time since 2011.
