HADLEY, MA - Maureen (Flynn) Barry, 90, formerly of Huntington Rd. in Hadley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Quabbin Valley Health Care in Athol. Maureen was born in Northampton on July 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Stephen and Ann (Ahearn) Flynn. She was raised in Northampton and attended local schools, graduating from St. Michael's High School. Maureen married Michael T. She loved being a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother as her family grew over the years. After her children were grown, Maureen decided to go back to school. She earned a degree from Holyoke Community College in her 60's. Maureen was a great cook, and she enjoyed cooking for her family. She also enjoyed dancing. In later years, Maureen loved being active on Facebook. She enjoyed being able to keep in touch with family and friends near and far and sharing memories with them. Maureen loved the outdoors, especially gardening. She was a communicant of the former St. John's Catholic Church and had worshipped at Most Holy Redeemer Church, both in Hadley for many years. Maureen was sadly predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Michael, her sister Patricia Molloy, and her brother Stephen Flynn. She is survived by her sons, Michael Barry and his wife Rebecca, and David Barry and his wife Liane, her daughter Lisa Barry-Stockwell and her husband Rob, her grandchildren Paul Barry and his wife Elise, Elantha Barry and her husband Jon Wan, Casey Forbes and her husband Christopher, and Hannah Wiley and her fiancé Trinity Griffin, great grandchildren Wesley, Noah, Miles, Hudson, Aidan, Michael and Kaya. Her brother Michael Flynn and his wife Carol and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sally and Tom Growhoski as well as many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held from AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, NORTHAMPTON with burial and the Catholic Rites of Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery, Northampton.
