Dear Bridget:
I am sorry for your loss. Mike was a very special and kind man. I am sure with the Ahearn and Goggins families you are sure to get a lot of love and support. I watched his Mass online. He had what the Irish would call a "GRAND SEND OFF."
Your friend,
Helen Myers and the Myers family

We got to know Mike both personally, as he worked with us on final preparations for our family, and professionally as we worked together for others. We were always thankful for the comradery.
There was also the "favor" of giving our daughter a ride in the limo for her wedding. Plus the Super Bowl rivalry between the Giants and Patriots. He was just a great guy.
We pray his family be touched by Almighty God's peace.

I remember Mike when he was a little fellow on Fort Street. I was great friends with his Dad. I came to know Mike as an adult through the St. Patrick's Association and he was a good friend when my grandson died. My deepest sympathies to Bridget and his family.

As my son’s youth soccer coach 30 years ago, Mike was kind and supportive in ways that had a long term positive effect on my son’s life. We appreciate that.

Ahern Funeral Home and Mike Ahern buried my parents, Dorothy and Jerry Custeau, in 2008 and 2012. He also took care of my mother-in-law, Merle Wilson in 2013. Mike was wonderful to our family. He gave us alone time to say good-bye and he was very sensitive to our needs at the moment. At our Dad's funeral, he chuckled with us as we poured
a little bit of scotch on Dad's grave, a request of our father as he always loved a fine scotch. Thank you, Mike for all that you did for us. May you rest in peace. Sincerely, The Custeau and Wilson Family

I knew Mike in school and through church and CCD at St. Mary’s. I saw him in September when he took care of the arrangements for my sister’s funeral. What a special combination of talents he had – so, so funny but also remarkably comforting to so many during hard times. I am sorry to hear of his passing and am praying for his family and friends and wishing them peace.

We were all so sad to hear of Mike's passing. He was such a great friend and fan of the band, and loved the old Irish tunes. We will miss him and be thinking of him and his family, especially during the St. Patricks holidays. ""May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of
Saint Patrick behold you." In sympathy, the Boston Blackthorne Band (Jon Lees, Jim O'connor, Chetz Keegan, Pete McAvoy, Dale Monette).

Oh Mike - we are truly heartbroken! We will miss your smile, your kindness, and most definitely your camaraderie. You were someone we always enjoyed catching up with whether it was at NCC, bowling and of course, during all of the St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Rest In Peace Mike

Mike’s superpower was his warm and welcoming smile, perpetually lighting up the atmosphere and those around him. Following his father’s flare of service to the community, he was taken too young and soon, leaving an unimaginable void. Mike and his jocular, humble and healing aura will be unceasingly missed.

I was saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. As a classmate of mine at Northampton High, I always remembered him as a kind young man with an infectious smile. Later in life, he displayed that same benevolence to myself and my family as we prepared to say our final goodbyes to my mother. I know he will be missed by many . Please accept my sincere condolences.

My condolences to Mike's family. As the Details clerk at the VAMC in Northampton, Mike was my, go to guy who would never turn me down when it came time to give some dignity to some of our indigent veterans, driving them to the Bourne National Cemetery after an incredibly small service (myself and David Whiteley, our chaplain).
I was blessed to know this man, whose heart and smile fought for which was bigger. Rest in Peace

I’m saddened to hear this news, I was a childhood friend and went to HS with Mike and his brother Pat. My grandparents also lived on Fort Street so I spent many of my summers running around with the Fort St gang, lots of good memories. I remember Mike as always having a smile on his face and the closeness he had with his family and friends. I haven’t seen Mike in years, but I’d like to send my thought and prayers to his family & friends during this difficult time. RIP Mr Mike

Mike Ahearn was a true Home Town hero. From the days his Dad coached us on the Elks little league Team to NIS Babe Ruth we have always stayed in touch and it was like Mike, Pat and I had never left that diamond when we’re got together. As it was said in the movie Stand bye me “You will never have friends, like you did when you were 12 years old”. Mike help so many people in their darkest times. There is a crowd of Irish waiting at the gate to greet Mike... old friends. You will be missed my friend.
