In the summer of 1988 I was a graduate student at UMASS Amherst SPHHS in Epidemiology and I was hired by Paula to work on a study looking into the supply of rural physicians in Massachusetts. I was just reading an article on Medscape which made me think of my work with Paula. "Primary Care Internal Medicine Is Dead, An Autobiographical Story That Affects Us All," by Debra L. Glasser, MD, July 17, 2024, and I wanted to send it to Paula. This is how I learned that Paula had passed last March. Tess Cruz (currently at USC) was also on the team. I learned so much from Paula.
