Carol Gibson Obituary
Carol Ann "Sugar" Gibson, 67, of Jefferson, passed away Friday at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.
Carol was born in Norfolk, Nebraska to Dell and Laura (Vandenberg) Jones. The family moved to Oregon in 1959 and settled in Jefferson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968 and married her high school sweetheart, Terry Gibson in Scio.
Carol enjoyed everything outdoors; fishing, hunting, gardening, as well as cooking and going to the beach.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany and St. Thomas Catholic Church in Jefferson.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Gibson of Jefferson; daughter, Sherry Brown and husband Michael of Millersburg; sisters, Jodean Bridges and husband Bill of Fremont, Nebraska, Patty Skeahan and husband Jim of Jefferson, and Jeanine Pruett of Salem; and grandchildren, Michaela and Gibson Brown.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Scio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice may be sent in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. SW, Albany, OR 97321.
