There are really no words for how I felt when I heard the news about Clara's death. I am so sad for the world to have lost such a light. I was particularly moved when I read that she took her students on walks to calm the chaos for a minute. I used to do the same thing with students at Franklin Middle School and I'd like to claim the honor of planting that seed. When we traveled to WDC in her 7th grade year I was always the last in the Iine of around 70-80 students and parents with the title "the sweep" so no one would be left behind. Every once in a while she would drop back to say 'Hi and check to make sure i was ok. Its hard work to keep track of everyone for 9 dats! I will treasure that memory of her forever. Rest in peace my dear, Denise Wells
