Kenneth Jones Obituary
September 25, 1939 - December 15, 2024
Kenneth H. Jones was born in Tekoa, Wash. on September 25, 1939, and died peacefully on December 15, 2024, in Lebanon Ore. with loved ones at his side. He is preceded in death by his mother, father.
Ken was a helping professional most of his adult life. He attended Eugene Bible College and Texas Christian University. After being ordained by the Christian Church, he served churches in Texas, Washington State, and Oregon. During mid-life, he returned to school and obtained his professional counseling license and established the Corvallis Counseling Center, his private practice. He also taught human relations classes at Linn-Benton Community College. In 1975, he (and his then wife) established the Exodus II Foundation, through which he conducted seminars and lead whitewater rafting trips during the summers as a licensed commercial guide on many rivers in the Northwest including the Deschutes, McKenzie, Snake and Salmon. Ken was proud to be known for "doing dangerous things safely." Other adventures included marriage, raising two daughters and sailing to the Virgin Islands. Ken is remembered by those who know him best as a charismatic man with many talents who often preferred to forge his own path rather than conform to convention.
He is survived by the love of his life, Kathleen Veritas; brother, Paul Jones and family; daughters, Julie Jones (Jacob), and Jennifer Hall (Jeff); and grandson, Ned Hall.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lebanon Senior Center, 80 Tangent St, Lebanon, Ore. 97355, 1:30 p.m., February 15, 2025.

I am blessed to have had KEN JONES as both a counselor and a friend. I loved Ken's counseling style that was seasoned with compassion, understanding, clarifying conversation, and sprinkled with humor. I never left his office or his group sessions without feeling uplifted... never!
KEN skillfully unearthed my Inner Power with home exercises, and my Self confidence with communication tools... revealing the real me who had been hiding.
KEN nurtured my Spirituality throughout the years of our relationship. My religious inclusivity found a safe harbor in KEN, freeing me to reveal & explore my expanding levels of spiritual understanding.
In summary, what I love about KEN JONES was his willingness and capacity to meet me where ever i was... mentally, emotionally, & Spiritually. He fed my Soul... always adding more LIGHT. I'm sure his heart is overflowing with joy now, in his Home of LOVE & LIVING LIGHT.

Our deepest condolences to you and all your families in losing dear Ken. We knew him from Tekoa School and Tekoa Christian Church during our teen years and Ken was a best friend to Harry's brother, Bob Brandt, who was also an ordained minister, and they hung out together a lot!
We feel sad we didn't hear from him in these past few years. He was a very nice and interesting guy! Our deepest sympathy to you all.

My fondest memory as a kid was listening to Uncle Ken play Ghost Riders in the Sky on the guitar around a campfire while on a Grand Ronde rafting trip.
