Marianne Lane Obituary

1926 - 2014

Marianne Stearns Lane of Missoula, Montana, passed away on Monday, June 22, of natural causes.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the family home in Clinton Montana.

Marianne was born in Denver, Colorado, in 1926. She graduated from Santa Monica High School.

Marianne married Preston Lane in 1947; they were married 56 years before his death in 2003.

Marianne worked as a secretary for Federal Land Bank in Ventura, California, for 18 years. She enjoyed golf very much, and knitting, which her mother was very interested in. She was also actively involved in the Episcopal Church.

Marianne is survived by sons Jeffrey (Constance) and Stephen (Mary Ann); nephew Ray Peterson; niece Sheryl Stearns; grandchildren Jennifer Lane and Mitchell Lane; and other family and friends.

Marianne is preceded in death by husband Preston; brother Joel; sister-in-law Jeanne Peterson; niece June Knudsen; and grandnephew Kelly Knudsen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to American Diabetes Association, on the web, or P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
