Marjory Catherine Fitzwater, 85, of Lebanon, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Oct. 27.
She was born May 29, 1923, in Corvallis, the daughter of Phillip and Bessie Gragg Fleischman. Marjory grew up in Corvallis and following high school attended Oregon State University for two years. She then attended secretarial college in Portland for two additional years. She married Lowell "Rusty" Fitzwater in 1950. They settled in the Berlin area of Lebanon. Marjory had been a homemaker and later worked for Smokecraft in Albany. Rusty preceded her in death in 1998.
Marjory loved her church and belonged to the Waterloo Chapel. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, fishing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was also fond of the outdoors, especially going to the coast and Rogue River.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Patrick and Kathy Fitzwater of Lebanon and Sylvia Kay and Mack Cunningham of Klamath Falls; six grandchildren, Rose, Patrick and Michael Fitzwater, and Chris, Nick and Justin Cunningham; great-grandson Carson Cunningham; and her lifetime friend Edna Wiese. Her sister Phylis Dentel preceded her in death.
A viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
