Olga Andersen

1943 - 2025

Olga Hazel (Coykendall) Andersen passed away on November 6, 2025. Olga was born February 26, 1943, in Santa Maria, CA, where she lived until moving to Albany, OR as an elementary school student.

It was there, while attending Albany Union High School, that she met Jerry Andersen and they were married in 1963. She served as a part-time bookkeeper for Jerry's business, Rose City Sound, for many years. At the same time, she was a full-time homemaker with their five children. Olga was devoted to her church and community. She was active in Mother's Clubs, 4H, Bible Studies, Empty Nester groups, as well as the local school board, fireman appreciation banquets, and other community events, always willing to lend a hand when called upon. She was frequently asked to cook for church camps or school events, sometimes planning and preparing food for hundreds of people at a time. Olga was well known for her love of crafts, including sewing, painting and crocheting. She would share this love by organizing local clubs for people to come together, providing an opportunity for participants to socialize and learn a new skill. Olga would also donate her work to those in need, specifically sewing pajamas for children in the community and making blankets for newborns and the elderly. Olga is preceded in death by her son, Keith, and her husband, Jerry. She is survived by her daughters Marcy, Gail, Jennifer and Brenda, as well as 7 grandchildren.
