Stephen Parrott Obituary

Stephen Knighton Parrott, 81, of Abany, Oregon, passed away August 29, 2025. Steve was born May 28, 1944, in Portland, Oregon, to Ed and Shirley (Savage) Burnett. At an early age he was adopted by his stepfather Howard "Bud" Parrott.

Steve spent his early years in Newport. When he was in high school his family moved to Cloverdale, where he graduated from Nestucca High School in 1962. He also graduated from Merritt Davis School of Business in Salem.

Steve moved to Albany where he met Susan Scott. The two married in 1969 and remained in Albany where they raised their two daughters, Darcy (1971) and Stacy (1973).

Over the years he sold real estate, owned Paragon Homes, and retired from AmeriTitle. Steve loved golfing with his longtime friend Clem Reding, as well as working in his yard, and spending time with his family. He was a 55-year member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, a Shriner, and a former member of the Rotary Club of Lebanon.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue; daughters Darcy (Phil) Smith and Stacy (Scott) Brainard; grandchildren Austin (Alli) Smith, Georgia (Richard) Becker, Crystal (Tim) Clay, Scott (Daylee) Brainard, and Nick (Stacy) Brainard; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepsister Sherie (Ed) Amstutz.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Shirley and father Bud.

At Steve's request no services will be held.
