Andrea J. "Andy" Stair

1943 - 2025

Janesville, WI - Andrea J. "Andy" Stair, age 81, of Janesville, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Rock Haven. She was born in Janesville on Nov. 10, 1943, the daughter of the late Daniel and Cora (O'Connor) Finnane. Andy attended Ellis Country School and St. Patrick's School and graduated from Janesville High School. She married the love of her life, Robert Stair on Aug. 21, 1961, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. In her own words, she was "Honored to have him as a partner in life!" Bob preceded her in death on March 16, 2015. She and her friend, Kathy Kaiser started an interior decorating business hanging wallpaper known as the Wall Wizards. They were the exclusive decorators for the two major builders in Janesville and surrounding communities, along with hundreds of private homeowners. The Wall Wizards retired in the fall of 2004. Andy was an active member of St. William Catholic Church and a member of the Janesville Athletic Club. She enjoyed walking, playing cards, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She especially loved attending the grandchildren and great grandchildren's events.

She is survived by her 2 children, Lisa (Tom) Ryan of Edgerton and Brett (Patrice) Stair of Milton; daughter-in-law, Jodi Stair of Janesville; 6 grandchildren: Ross (Erin) Ryan, Anna Ryan, Ashton (Michael) Gouvion, Stephanie (Zachary) Hilliger, Laura (Keegan) McCarragher, and Allison Stair; 4 great grandchildren: Kiler, Braylen, Oran, and Milo; siblings: Sally Krueger, Sister Mary Cora Finnane, John Finnane, and Mac (Sheila) Finnane; sister-in-law, Carol Ostby; and numerous nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded by her parents; husband Robert; son Robert Stair, Jr; siblings: Robert Finnane, Fr. Daniel Finnane, William Finnane, Mary Ann Bickle, Virginia (Duane Ahlf) Lee, Jean (Richard) Waite, and Genevieve (Robert) Gray; and brothers-in-law: Sydney Krueger and Richard Ostby

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at ST. WILLIAM'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Janesville.
