Elvira M. Fazel

1925 - 2023

Janesville, WI - Elvira Marie (Schinke) Fazel, age 98, passed away on October 30, 2023, at Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care Center Janesville. She was born February 23, 1925, at home on the farm east of Elkhorn, WI. She was the first of four children of Willie E. and Viola M. (Walbrandt) Schinke.

Elvira attended Bowers Country School, all eight grades with the same teacher, Mary Harmon, and graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1943. She received her cosmetology license from Milwaukee Accredited Beauty Culture School in 1945. Elvira worked as a beautician for one year in Milwaukee and several years in Elkhorn.

Elvira married Alfred Fazel on June 21, 1947, and they had two daughters - Jeanice and Linda. In 1990, Elvira moved to Janesville and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, and VFW Auxiliary.

Elvira is survived by her two daughters Jeanice Fox, Janesville and Linda (Michael) Netzer, Madison; grandchildren: Joshua Fox and JenaMarie Fox; sisters-in-law Shirley Schinke and Mary Lou Schinke; cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Viola Schinke; Alfred Fazel; special companion Robert White; brothers: Lyle and Merle Schinke; sister Beverly Jones; son-in-law James Fox; grandnephew Jamie Sendt; sister-in-law Ida Schinke, and niece Lynette Sendt.

Funeral service will be Monday, November 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 302 N. Parker Dr, Janesville. Visitation will begin on Monday at 9:30 AM at church until time of service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will be private at Hazel Ridge Cemetery, Elkhorn, WI. APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville is assisting the family.
