Kevin Gies Obituary
Kevin enjoyed hiking at JSOL and Rockport Park, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. A devoted sports fan, he loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. He was also a proud member of the Early Morning Risers.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Julie of Smyrna, TN; two children, Jordan (Nichole) Gies of Janesville and Rachel (Sayler Clayton) Gies of Smyrna, TN; three grandchildren, Max Gies, Evelyn Gies, and Jurgen Gies; his mother, Mary Gies of Janesville; his brother, Brian Gies of Janesville; his brother-in-law, Tim Balk of Dodgeville; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Gies; his father, Donald Gies; and his sister, Laurie Balk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at ST. WILLIAMS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made in Kevin's name to the Early Morning Risers, 402 W. Delavan Drive, Janesville, WI 53546. APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville is assisting the family. Online condolences can be shared at www.apfelwolfe.com
