Leo P. Langmeier

1942 - 2023

Janesville, WI - Leo P. Langmeier, age 81, of Janesville, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born in Dodgeville on September 30, 1942, the son of Norbert and Elva (Foss) Langmeier. He was a 1960 graduate of Verona High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Army Reserves. He married Vicky Hackett and even though they later divorced, remained close friends. Vicky served as Leo's primary caregiver until the end. Leo worked as a truck driver for A&H Trucking since 1963, retiring just this past July. He enjoyed watching Western Movies, spending time with his family and his dogs.

Leo is survived by his 2 children; Angela Cook and Lonnie Langmeier both of Janesville; 2 grandchildren; Kayley (Jaren) Hatlevig and Danielle Schoen; 5 great grandchildren: Declan, Emiliano, Taytum, Dalakai and Kaliyanna; former wife and caregiver, Vicky Hackett; 4 siblings: Patricia Kirkpatrick of New Berlin, Janet Hanson of Milton, Fay (Jim) Schoenenberger of Evansville and Larry Langmeier of Stoughton; sister-in-law, Kelly Langmeier of Janesville; extended family, Jodi Abrahamson and her children: Kyle, Nick, and Josh, as well as other family and friends including his beloved dogs: Phil, Ellie, Wally, Zada, and Kora; and grandpups, Kidd and Klemm. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandchildren; Jermaine and Taylor Schoen; 3 brothers: Jerry, Al and Charlie Langmeier; sister-in-law, Linda Langmeier; and a brother-in-law, Kirk Kirkpatrick.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd, Janesville. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville.
