Mary Dammen Obituary
Janesville, WI - Mary Elizabeth Dammen of Janesville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023, surrounded by the love of family at Agrace of Southern Wisconsin (Janesville).
Mary was born March 27, 1947, in Stoughton, Wisconsin the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Hubbard) Schaller. She was a proud graduate of Evansville High School, Class of 1965, Evansville, Wisconsin. Mary attended the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. She married the love of her life, Robert Dammen, in 1967. Bob and Mary enjoyed a happy 56 years of marriage traveling across the world.
Mary was loyal, unwavering, and generous with her time within the community. Mary spent many years working at the M&I Bank in Evansville and as an independent insurance agent/owner until her retirement. She served: St. John's of Evansville as the president of the church council, wedding coordinator, and youth group leader; president of the Evansville Jaycettes; Evansville 4-H Leader; and Confirmation leader at Hope Lutheran Church in Milton with her daughter-in-law. Mary attained her master gardener accreditation and lent her green thumb humbly. Most importantly, Mary was the heart of our family. Alongside Bob, she proudly supported her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
Mary is survived by her husband: Robert Dammen of Janesville; her two children: Amy (Ben) Banks of Evansville and Craig (Kelley) Dammen of Fort Atkinson; four grandchildren: Brennen Banks, Elizabeth Dammen, Caleb Dammen, and Paige Banks; siblings: Norma Bly and Sharon (Dean) Sarow; siblings-in-law: Lee (Cindy) Dammen and Lynn (Mark) Roeben; life-long friends: Robert & Sandy Schuh and Al & Betty Leonard; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Burnell and Donna Dammen, brother Richard Dille, siblings-in-law: David Bly, Charles Alling, Betty and Al Isley, and nephew Dale Isley.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, followed by a short funeral service at 1:30 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, Evansville, Wisconsin (312 S 3rd Street, Evansville, WI).
