Michael D. "Mike" Simmons

1947 - 2025

Edgerton, WI - Michael D. "Mike" Simmons, age 78, of Edgerton, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg. He was born in Fort Atkinson on Jan. 22, 1947, the son of the late Herbert and Doris (Vaughn) Simmons and was a 1965 graduate of Edgerton High School. Mike served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam. He married Darlene Hadden on Dec. 16, 1968, at Central Lutheran Church. They later divorced. Mike was a dealer in wholesale used cars and worked in autobody for many years including working at Hessians Auto Sales in Edgerton. He enjoyed playing cards, especially with his close friend Kirk Diedrick, watching NASCAR, motorcycle flat track racing, and traveling in his motor home. Mike was also an avid Badgers, Packers, and Brewers fan and loved watching his grandkids play sports and doing whatever they loved.

He is survived by his 2 children, Joshua (Melanie) Simmons of Edgerton and Danielle Weiland of Wausau; 4 grandchildren: Mason Simmons, Brayden Simmons, Riah Weiland and Greta Weiland; a sister, Patricia Sund; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
