Raymond Flood Obituary

Janesville, WI - Raymond 'Ray' F. Flood, 87, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at home. He was born December 21, 1937, in Janesville, WI, the only child to the late Raymond J. and Lois C. (Sperry) Flood. Ray graduated from Albany High School, Class of 1956, where he played basketball and baseball. He would serve his country in the U.S. Navy in 1956 and be honorably discharged in 1958. On November 29, 1958, he married the former Helen M. Gransee, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Brodhead.

Ray worked for General Motors from 1958 to 2000, retiring in the maintenance department. Ray loved pranking people no matter who you were, especially the grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his wife Helen Flood of Janesville; three children: Pamela (Timothy) Wychgram of Lewiston, MN, Linda (William) Shaw of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Daniel (Kimberly) Flood of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Tony (Courtney) Wychgram, Tony Homola, Ashley (Josh Higdon) Eckert, Jeff (Amber) Eckert, Dana (Ryan) Johnson, and Joe (Samantha) Flood; great grandchildren: Avery, Georgia, and Oliver Wychgram, Ava and Stella Homola, Dylan and Everett Higdon, Nora Eckert, Raelynn and Riley Flood, Tyler, Clayton, and Addison Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter Danielle Homola.

At the request of Ray and his family a private family service will be held. Burial will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville is assisting the family. For on-line condolences: www.apfelwolfe.com
