Janesville, WI - Richard E. "Buck" Williams, age 88, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. Richard was born December 10, 1936, in Janesville; he attended Janesville Senior High School. Buck was a nickname given to him as a child because he could make his horse buck. Buck attended Whitewater business college after graduation. He married Joan Simmons on June 14, 1958. Together they raised two boys, David and Troy Williams. They divorced in 1976. His 2nd marriage was to Joyce Colby in 1979. Together they raised one son, Josh Williams. They divorced in 1987. His 3rd marriage was to Caroline Willison, and his 4th marriage was to Claudia Neeson on February 7, 2003.
Buck worked as a car salesman within his Father's Dealership "Rock County Buick" until 1969. When his father retired, he started his own wholesale auto business, R.E.W. Wholesale. He purchased and sold used cars throughout Wisconsin, and then re-sold them to auto dealers. After his stint in the wholesale business, he then went to work for Burtness Chevrolet in 1983, where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement years together with Claudia, until her passing on December 7, 2020.
Buck had an outgoing and gregarious personality. He loved to socialize, and he could strike up a conversation with anyone. This is what made him a great salesman. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, who we can still hear yelling "GO, GO, GO, GO!!!" Buck was a hard-working and honest person. He enjoyed showing his family the great outdoors, and enjoyed family get togethers.
Buck is survived by his sons: David (Helena) Williams of Sarasota, FL, Troy Williams of Sarasota, FL, and Josh (Rachel) Williams of Lee's Summit, MO; step daughters, Mary (Phil) Borgia of Janesville, and Tammy Pankratz; seven grandchildren: Heather, Justin, Jacob, Jamie, Jennifer, Brayden, and Brock; step granddaughter, Francesca; and one great-grandson, Issac.
We love and miss you Dad! We will always cherish the good times we had together. Thank you for all you did raising us!
A special thank you to Mary, Phil, and Franchesca Borgia; Nimmer, Katie, and Mariah from Agrace HospiceCare; along with the staff at Oak Park Place, who all spent countless hours caring for Buck during his final days.
