Steven Bordwell Obituary
Steve was an active member of First Baptist Church of Janesville, volunteered as a "Grumpy" for Rotary Gardens, was a Tuesday Morning Optimist, loved playing tennis and golf, and would be recognized by many driving his prized turquoise BMW Z3 convertible. To fuel his passion for sports cars and racing, he worked as a Starter and Flagman for the SCCA at Road America in Elkhart Lake and Blackhawk Farms for over 50 years. Steve is best described as quick-witted, fun-loving, and a friend to all. Most of all, Steve loved spending time with his family and is lovingly remembered by his grandkids as "silly grandpa."
Steve is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Scott (Kaaren) Bordwell, Stephanie Bordwell-Wasson; daughter-in-law, Heavin (Joshua) Bordwell-Yopp; grandchildren; Mathew Bordwell, Teryn (Jake) Gray, Jamie Bordwell, Brandon Wasson, Jarod Wasson, Chloe Wasson, Brianna Bordwell, Brooke Bordwell, and Brylee Bordwell; great-grandchildren, Henry Wasson, JJ Gray, and a third due in April; brother, Peter Bordwell; and other extended family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Bordwell; and grandson, Kyle Scott Bordwell.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd, Janesville with Pastor Jerry Amstutz officiating. A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made to Chasing Chad Corp, C/O Scott Bordwell, 3412 Woods Edge Lane, Janesville, WI 53548, a non-profit organization honoring his son Chad, with proceeds going to brain cancer research and patient support.
