Thomas J. "Ozzie" Osmond

1943 - 2025

Janesville, WI - Thomas J. "Ozzie" Osmond, age 81, passed away in Fitchburg, WI, on Monday, April 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 5, 1943, in Janesville, the son of Eugene J. and Agnes M. (Shea) Osmond. He graduated from Janesville High School. On June 12, 1971, he married Phyllis Schulze at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Janesville.

Tom was employed by GM, retiring after 42 years. He was very active with the UAW Local 95 and looked forward every year to working the GM tent at the county fair.

He loved tractors, especially old Fords, being outdoors, cutting the grass, and watching NASCAR and college basketball. Tom and Phyllis enjoyed traveling to find "good food." He loved interacting and socializing with family and friends, but most of all, he took great pride in his role of "Papa" to his loving grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis; three children: Andrew (Jessica Garcia) Osmond, Jill (Jacob) Osmond-Groell, and Erin (Bryan) Champion; four grandchildren: Eugene, Oliver, Cordelia, and Hailey; and his brother, John (Reta) Osmond; nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Gene, Joe, and Bob Osmond; and a sister, Mary Osmond.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME with a visitation at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private at a later date.
