William Ames Obituary

Janesville, WI - William "Billy" M. Ames, age 67, passed away at home on Sunday, September 7th, 2025.

He was born on July 26, 1958 in Janesville, WI, the son of John and Evelyn (Burke) Ames. He attended Parker High School, and graduated in 1978. He lived in Janesville and worked at Shakey Pizza for 17 years, then worked at Taco Bell for 18 years until he retired in 2023. Billy was a member of a Sunday Bowling League "The Strikers." He enjoyed going to stockcar races, and mowing lawns. He will be especially remembered for his smiling face, sense of humor, and always being there to help when needed.

Billy is survived by four brothers: Robert "Bob" (Lana) Ames, Allen (Donna) Ames, Michael Ames, and Kevin Ames; five sisters: Sheri Ames, Margaret "Peggy" Mess, Alice (Michael) Godding, Susan (Terry) Petitt, and Brenda (Ed Myers) Crum; two sisters-in-law, Susan Ames and Diana Ames; and a dear friend, Sylvia Warren. Also many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; three brothers: Roger Ames, Jerry Ames, Ronald Ames; sister-in-law, Collen Ames; and his fiancee, Sherilyn Anderson.

Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 at 11am at the Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. Schneider Funeral Directors is assisting the family. For on-line condolences and guestbook, please visit:www.schneiderfuneraldirectors.com
