ANITA MEAD Obituary

ANITA MEAD Anita Loraine Mead, age 76, graduated to heaven on June 27, 2025, passing peacefully at her home in WaKeeney, KS. She was born on January 19, 1949, in Garden City, KS, to Glenn and Dixie (Pash) Moore. On May 25, 1968, Anita married the love of her life, Dennis Mead, in Garden City. He graduated to heaven on April 5, 2007, and Anita has missed him every day since. The two were high school sweethearts, both graduating from Garden City High School, where their lifelong journey as soulmates began. Anita continued her education, ultimately earning a master's degree in Higher Education Administration through studies at Friends University and Fort Hays State University. Her professional journey reflected her dedication to serving othersworking in various roles at law offices, Cargill, Garden City Community College, Fort Hays State University, and US BioEnergy. She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (Joe) Bolen; her grandson, Chace; her sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Gary Weber; and her nephew, Jake Weber. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Mead, and her parents, Glenn and Dixie Moore. A Celebration of Life and Praises to Our Father God will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Generations Church in WaKeeney, KS. Pastor Robby Hernandez will guide the celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Generations Church, sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 North 12th Street, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
