GILBERT LUCERO Obituary

GILBERT LUCERO JR. Gilbert Lucero Jr., 80, died Monday, January 13, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on May 23, 1945, in Clovis, New Mexico the son of Gilbert Lucero Sr. & Pauline Lucero. Gilbert was born and grew up in Clovis, New Mexico, where he attended schools. He left school at a young age to begin working to support his family. Throughout his early career, he held various jobs, including working on a farm, he was a welder and construction worker. As a kid he loved riding his bike, flying kites, and playing with marbles. His interests shifted to fishing, hunting, and restoring his vehicles. He is survived by his Children-Chris Lucero, Candida Lucero Vaca, Lonnie Lucero, Sammy Lucero, Monica Lucero, Nina Rosales, Michelle Lucero, Melinda Lucero, Mark Lucero, Josie Lucero, and Adam Lucero; Siblings-Martin Lucero, Raymond Lucero, Isabel Mondragon, Molly Mondragon, Mary Martinez, Frank Lucero, Johnny Lucero and Daniel Lucero; many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Parents and Daughter-Josephine Lucero. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 25, 2025, at Cornerstone Church in Garden City with Pastor Raul Silva officiating. There is no visitation. Family suggests memorial be given to Gilbert Lucero Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
