LAVERNE MATNEY

LAVERNE MATNEY LaVerne Matney passed away peacefully at The Cottages in Garden City, KS on May 6, 2023. Laverne was born July 6th, 1932 in Leoti KS to parents Burl and Fern Rogers. She graduated from Leoti, KS in 1951 and that same year went on to marry John B. Pearson. They had 5 children and were married until he passed away in 1985. She later married Fred Matney in 1987. She immensely enjoyed music, dancing and playing dice with her loved ones. She was a sweet soul and loved by many. LaVerne leaves behind her sister Stella Hutton of Tulsa, OK. 4 Children: Iris Graham of Salina, KS, Jack and Terry Pearson of Meade, KS, Jim Pearson of Hominey, OK, Jerry and Robin Pearson of Lakin, KS. Son-in-law Frank Rebarchek, 4 Stepchildren; Michael and Marchell Matney, Jerry and Myla Matney Debbie, Darrel Davis, Donna and Bruce Kriens. 18 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren and step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 5 brothers: Burl Gene Rogers, Ron Rogers Leland Rogers, Kenny Rogers, Rick Rogers. Stepchild Steven and Kathleen Matney, Son-in-law Larry Graham and her Daughter Pamela Pearson Rebarchek.
