PAMELA ZIMMERMAN Pamela Sue (Stoppel) Zimmerman, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at HaysMed in Hays, Kansas. She was born on October 9, 1954 to Florence Joan (Hafliger) and Alvin Jacob Stoppel in Garden City, Kansas. Pam was raised in Sublette, graduating from Sublette High School in 1972. She spent her professional life as an Auto Claim Adjuster in the insurance industry. Pam married Tom Scott Zimmerman on July 28, 1984 at the home of Evelyn Weeks. They resided in Holcomb, Kansas before making Dorrance, Kansas their home. An avid crafter, Pam loved creating things and often attended auctions with her mother, a routine that made them well-known among local auctioneers. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Pam loved her Diet Pepsi and Mexican food, and being near the water, often spending her time at the lake. Her favorite flowers were sunflowers and chrysanthemums, reflecting her bright and cheerful nature. Pam was known for her wisdom and the heartfelt advice she would give when asked. She always listened attentively and spoke from her heart, often putting others before herself. Her knowledge, wisdom, and selfless nature will be profoundly missed. Pam is survived by her husband, Tom Zimmerman; step-children, Alon Zimmerman and Shelia Eichman of Plainville, KS, and Alex Zimmerman of Garden City, KS; step-grandchildren, Ashton Zimmerman of Derby, KS, Chase Zimmerman of Hays, KS, Zachary Zimmerman of Plainville, KS, and Olivia LaPorte-Zimmerman of Hays, KS; step-great-grandson, Avery McIntyre; siblings, Mary Ann Barber and husband James of Sublette, KS, Tom Stoppel and wife Sue of Sublette, KS, Patty Noland and husband David of Bartlesville, OK, and Mike Stoppel and husband Stephen Kinal of Georgetown, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Joan Stoppel; a sister, Alana Stoppel; and infant twin brothers. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Sublette United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Mayhew officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Dorrance City Cemetery.
