PATRICIA JOANNE HARTLEY Patricia Joanne Hartley, 86, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Ravenna, NE, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in her home after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., with a vigil rosary at 6 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island. The Reverend Don Buhrman will officiate the service. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Sodtown Cemetery, west of Cairo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to Catholic Charities. Patricia was born August 29, 1938, in Garden City, KS to Frank and Isabel Brungardt. She was united in marriage to Ernest L. Hartley on May 9, 1955, in Garden City, KS. The couple was married for 54 years at the time Ernest passed away. During her life, Patricia resided in many communities of Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma. She worked as a homemaker and volunteered for many organizations, including serving as Head Start parental liaison to the Garden City School Board for two years. She taught a sewing class during her husband's time as Co-Leader of the Finney County Kansas Lincoln Live Wires 4-H Club. She was a registration volunteer for the Colorado 9 Health Fair in Gunnison, Colorado. She served as chairperson and coordinator of Score Booth staff for the State Elks Softball Tournament held yearly. Registration and stats volunteer for both the Gunnison, CO local Elks and the Colorado Elks Mountain District sponsored Hoop Shoot contest. She served as the Girl Scout Director of Gunnison and Hinsdale Counties in Colorado. She also served one term as Vice President and two terms as President of the Elks Ladies of Gunnison Elks Lodge #1623. She is a past member of the Vashti Rebekah Lodge #43 of Gunnison, CO. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, OK, and St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island. Patricia enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards, and her keyboard dancing, and loved to sing. Her family and friends meant the most to her. Patricia is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Colleen and Lawrence Armijo of Fowler, CO, Dana Luft of Ravenna, NE, Tricia Hartley of Oklahoma City, OK, and Todd Kindall of Grand Island, NE; four sons, Stephen Hartley of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary Hartley of Ardmore, OK, Mark Hartley of Ravenna, NE, and Patrick Hartley of Kearney, NE; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary & Suzanne Brungardt of Sun City West, AZ; one sister, Sharon Shepherd of Oklahoma City, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest L. Hartley, brother-in-law, Maurice Shepherd, son, Richard Hartley, daughter, Sonja Kindall, great-granddaughter, Isabella Foster, and great-grandson, Christopher Walsh.
