Edna Holcomb Obituary
Edna was born to James and Frances Lilly (née Hall) on December 15, 1944, in Hollywood. She had her own unique style, sense of humor, personality, and superior wit. Edna was a determined woman, as is evidenced by her earning her Master's Degree while both working and attending college full time while raising her children. Edna touched many lives as a Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist whose career spanned 40 years.
As a long-time member of the Gilroy United Methodist Church, she worked with their women's group advocating for Social Justice, taught the Adult Sunday School Class, and led the Serendipity group therapy Bible Study for many years. She also brilliantly led the Children's Time during church services, bringing them little gifts to illustrate each Bible story. Edna touched the lives of her church community who helped her tremendously on her journey.
Edna enjoyed reading, watching mysteries, leading Book Clubs, eating out, and spending time with her family and friends.
Edna is survived by her loving children, Lisa, son-in-law Jeff, Laura, son-in-law Devon, Leeandra, Lurinda, James, and granddaughter Amara.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the Gilroy United Methodist Church on June 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gilroy United Methodist Church

My dearest Edna..your dear friend Nani (Delores) remembers the great time you both had together..from garage sales and going out for lunch.
You both shared a beautiful Gdaughter Amara Lynne. Nani always loved the special conversations with you..talking about Life..

To Edna's family from my family we're so deeply sorry for your loss we will be thinking of you.
I met Edna over forty years ago. She was pursuing her education and came to my place of work to do an internship. When she left we continued to stay in touch. I continued to work and she was busy with her education and than with her practice.
When I moved to Gilroy I was able to see her more often. She invited me to
join her book group, which I did. The first part of the meeting we discussed
the book we had just read but, the second half was dedicated to discussing
the current politics and Edna was passionate about today's politics. We had
some interesting discussions on the subject. These were fun times.
Edna was very much a woman who marched to the beat of her own drum. She had a unique personality. She was witty, funny, and caring. She tried to help wherever and whomever she thought needed help. She also had a love for furry friend (kitties). If she thought a furry friend needed help Edna was going to help it.
I feel so lucky to have had Edna as my friend for all these years. She'll be greatly missed.
