Gerald F. "Gerry" Foisy

1943 - 2026

Born in Lorain, Ohio on June 4, 1943, and peacefully passed away on January 7, 2026, following a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Gerry was married to Jeanne for 42 years with a lot of love, laughter and forever holding hands; they raised 5 amazing children. Stephanie Foisy, Stephenie Marfia, John Marfia (Jodi), Carl Foisy (Nicole), and Melissa Marfia-Roza (Joshua). Eleven grandchildren, Jacob, Megan, Justin, Emily, Collin, J.T., Carson, Bennett, Mayah, Xander, and Elis. Four great grandchildren, Warren, Kaila, Mayson and Aryiah.

Gerry was from a large loving family with 9 siblings and an enormous number of wonderful nieces and nephews.

Gerry gave his heart and time to family, friends, and his community. He was active in many organizations and loved to serve. He was a member of the National Guard, Church Elder, Church Choir, Youth Recovery Programs, Kiwanis Club, Timekeeper at the Gilroy High School and Gavilan College Football Games. Santa Clause for family, friends, Valley Medical Center, and St. Louise Regional Hospital were just a few. An avid fan of SF/SJ Giants, 49ers, and Ohio State Football. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and individual activities which brought a smile to his face and joy to his heart.

Gerry was most notable locally and internationally as "MR. GARLIC" (the unofficial ambassador) for the Gilroy Garlic Festival. A position he proudly and thoroughly enjoyed for 29 years. A man full of family, faith and giving to others will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Gilroy Presbyterian Church, 6000 Miller Avenue at 12 noon on March 7, 2026.
