Dustin Leroy Lamb
September 5, 1990 - February 27, 2014

Dustin was born September 5, 1990, in Garden City, Kansas.
As a young child Dustin was curious about everything, he loved people and avidly participated in all kinds of sports. After moving to Grand Junction in 2003, he attended East Middle School's Challenge Program and played bass in the Jazz Band. His active lifestyle continued through high school at Fruita Monument where he enjoyed sports, Ag Mechanics, and little britches rodeo. His aspiration to become a Marine fueled a desire to graduate early and to enlist before graduation in 2008. Dustin went on his first deployment with the eleventh Marine Expeditionary Unit, providing Humanitarian Assistance in over 13 countries. He shared his parents' anniversary on March 25th, 2009, when he married Alyssa (Hunter) Binkley. On March 16th 2010, they were blessed with their daughter, Payton Lamb.
Dustin was honorably discharged from active duty and returned to his hometown of Fruita where he was employed at Tetra Technologies. He enjoyed his job and all of the wonderful people he worked with. When Dustin wasn't working he took Payton fishing, ice skating and to the park.
Dustin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leonard Coy, and uncle, Leonard Coy Jr. He is survived by his parents, Rocklyn and Deborah Lamb; grandparents, Thomas and Kathleen Moeger; Geneva Coy, Fruita, CO; Leeroy Lamb, Burlington CO; uncle, Nicholas Lamb, Fruita, CO; sister, Desiree` Foster (Kerry) of Olathe, KS; Deidra Dunbar (Ryan) and nephew, Bruce Wallace of East Moline, Illinois, and his daughter, Payton Lamb of Fruita, CO.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 4th at the Fruita Funeral Home, 445 Kokopeli Blvd. Suite A, Fruita, CO from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. , and again on Wednesday March 5th, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. A memorial gathering will also be held on Wednesday, March 5th at 5:00 p.m. at Rimrock Elementary School, 1810 J .6 Road in Fruita. Please feel free to bring any pictures and/or memories to be placed in Payton's memory box.
