Edward Krummel Obituary

Edward Charles Krummel March 7, 1929 – December 13, 2009 Edward Charles Krummel passed away on December 13, 2009. He was 80 years old. Ed was born on March 7, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to August and Katherine Krummel in St. Louis, MO. He spent his childhood in St. Louis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Ed enlisted in the Navy in March, 1945 then went to the Marine Corps. Ed was very proud of all three of his sons who were also in the Marine Corps. simultaneously. He married Cleta "Jean" Krummel on November 10, 1950 in St. Louis. Ed was an engineer for AT & T. He was a commander for the VFW for many years in Missouri and California and remained a lifetime member. He volunteered for Share Colorado for a number of years as well as working the polls during elections, and liked to work the health fair. He enjoyed wood working, jewelry making, music box repair, bowling, dancing and was an avid reader. Ed was always willing to "lend a helping hand". Edward is survived by his wife, Cleta "Jean" Krummel of Grand Junction; sons, Mike of Hood River, OR; Terry (Donna) of Baltimore, MD, and Marty (Darla) of Grand Junction; brother, Walter Krummel of Aloha, OR; sister, Estelle (Floyd) Gable of Chillicothe, MO; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. A memorial service with military honors will be held for Ed on Friday, July 23rd at 3:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Cemetery, 2830 D Road in Grand Junction. The family would like to thank all the caregivers, Home Care of the Grand Valley, Mantey Heights, and Hospice & Palliative Care Center, that helped Ed over the last few years.
