Frances Lynch Obituary

Frances Kay Lynch

October 26, 1937 - January 6, 2021

Kay was a healthy, spry 83 year young lady. She was amazing!

Born in Garden City, KS, to Bus and Hazel Hale, the family moved when Kay was a young girl to Glenwood Springs, CO, in 1940, then to Grand Junction, CO.

Kay married John Lynch of Fruita on April 1, 1956, and divorced in 1975. Five wonderful children were created between the two, Larry (Teri), Burns, CO; Louie (Linda), Valparaiso, NE; Teri (Brad) Uphoff, Fruita, CO; Tami, Fruita, CO, and Lonny, Fruita, CO.

Kay graduated from Grand Junction High School, but was forever the biggest FMHS Wildcat fan, constantly cheering on all her children and grandchildren in all their sports endeavors! She was a softball player, skier, hiker, knitter, diehard Bronco fan and a true Republican. She loved the USA and her Colorado Johns - John Denver and John Elway.

Kay's life was all about her family, her sisters and most of all, her children. Next to that, traveling was her passion. She traveled to all 50 states and many foreign countries. Anybody wanting to tag along was welcomed as a travel buddy. She always found the best and cheapest deal out there. Kay loved her friends of new and old, but you better have packed a back pack, do not check your bag!! Kay was extremely proud of her party house and loved hosting the Fall Festival and Christmas parades.

Kay is survived by her five children; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one on the way and her three sisters.

Kay is preceded in death by grandparents, Roy and Carrie Hall, and parents, Clovius "Bus" and Hazel Hale.

Memorial services will be Monday, January 11, at 11:00 a.m., at Clifton Christian Church, 3241 F 1/4 Rd., Clifton, CO.

Contributions may be made in Kay's honor to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B N 12th St., Grand Junction, CO.

Kay was our neighbor for 23 years. We always enjoyed a chat "over the fence." She was an active, hard working, sweet lady. We admired her and send our love and sympathy to her family.
