Gary Morris Obituary

Gary Wayne Morris December 30, 1946 - January 11, 2010 Gary Morris, age 63, passed away on January 11, 2010 at the Lavilla Grande Nursing Home. Gary was born on December 30, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin to Paul and Eleanor (Haack) Morris. He spent his childhood in Madison, WI. He graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, IL and attended the School of World Missions in Prospect Heights, IL. Gary had been a resident of Grand Junction for the last 15 years. He retired as a CNA/Transporter in August 2009 from St. Mary's Hospital. He attended Clifton Assembly of God in Clifton. He played for the City of Grand Junction softball league and enjoyed football. Gary was a loving father and family man who was well liked by his co-workers and church family. Gary's presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Gary married Janet Archibeque on January 31, 1997 in Grand Junction, she survives. He is also survived by his parents, Paul and Eleanor Morris of Huntington, WV; son, David Morris and step-son, Brian Archibeque, both of Grand Junction; brothers, Tim of Huntington, WV; Randy of Orlando, FL; Chris of Grand Junction, and Bruce of Huntington, WV. He also leaves behind three grandchildren. Gary is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Vanessa Archibeque and his brother, Daniel. A memorial service and celebration of Gary's life will be held on January 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clifton Assembly of God. Pastor Jason McManus will officiate. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions in Gary's honor may be made to Clifton Assembly of God.

I worked with Gary at St. Mary's for several years. After a transfer, I would always run into him in the hall. He always had a smile on his face.
