Gerry Heaton February 16, 1943 - September 26, 2008 Gerry Heaton February 16, 1943 - September 26, 2008, 65, of Grand Junction. Gerry was born to Luther and Jean Heaton, in Atlanta GA. His strongest beliefs were love of God, love of Family and love of Country. A retired Air Force Sgt, he was a Vietnam veteran. His love of the Lord led him to become an ordained Southern Baptist minister and an active member of Monument Baptist Church. He was a volunteer at the VA Medical Center. Gerry was an active person, who enjoyed many pursuits during his lifetime. He became a private pilot at the age of 41. Enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his beloved wife of 17 years, Kathy, and his "Doodlebug", Samantha. He also loved golfing with his best friend, Hal Murray, of Sacramento, CA. He was never happier than when surrounded by his kids and grandkids. Gerry is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons Chris (Paula), Kent (Julie), Bobby (Kelli) and Joe (Carrie); daughter, Jennifer (Larry); grandchildren: Katerina, Nick, Travis, Brandon, Matt, Melissa, Amber, Lance, Ryan, Miranda, James, Samantha and Avalon; great-grandchildren: Marrisa and Kylie. Visitation will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Monday September 29, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 11:00 a.m. at Monument Baptist Church. Interment and military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
