Jeffery John Hamilton, Captain, USCG, Retired.
Jeffery was born March 19, 1944 to John Colby and Evelyn (Vandruff) Hamilton in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jeffery grew up in Broadwater, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado, (Lincoln High 1962). Jeffery graduated from the Coast Guard Academy (1966) and spent 23 years as a Search and Rescue Pilot for the US Coast Guard. Additionally, Jeffery served as Chief of Search and Rescue for District Seven and Group Commander for District Thirteen. He retired at the rank of Captain after 33 years of service.
On June 18, 1966, Jeffery married Pamela Augustine. They had two children, Peter John and Kristen.
Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, biking, music and painting. He especially enjoyed being "Papa" to his grandsons. In 2010, Jeffery's wife, Pam passed away. A few years later Jeffery met Sheryle Roberts and they were married in April 2013. Jeffery was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and colleague. He will be missed. He had a generous spirit and was always ready for life's next adventure.
A Celebration of Life was held in Bend, Oregon. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 12 at 1 p.m., Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, Grand Junction, CO. Memorial Contributions to Maua Methodist Hospital Service Fund or American Brain Tumor Association.
