Joshua Burris Obituary

Joshua Daniel Burris November 6, 1988 - September 16, 2008 Joshua Daniel Burris left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 16, 2008. He was born in San Mateo, CA to Caleb Burris and Darlene Williams. He is survived by many loving family and friends. His father, Caleb (Dan) Burris; mother, Darlene Johnson (Emery); brothers, Jake Williams, and Jared Burris; his sister, Angela (Alan) Thompson and their daughter, Libby; grandmother, Diana Pinar (Tim); grandparents, Dwain and Wanda Williams, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Bob and Jean Stuart and Frank and Opal Williams. He attended school in Fruita and participated in many sports. Joshua had one love, baseball. He was a pitcher for Fruita Redlands Little League for many years and All-Stars for three. He enjoyed football, basketball, skateboarding, bowling, hunting and fishing with his Dad. Joshua was a great fisherman. He could out fish anyone, any day! Joshua worked as a Derrick Hand for Franks West State Services in the oil fields and loved his job. God blessed him with a sweet gentle spirit, great potential, a great desire to master anything he set his mind to, and always a story to tell. He recently celebrated the birth of a friends daughter. He was a great adventurer, had one thing on his mind, living life to the fullest, often times he did. Sometimes he enjoyed life a little too much, but that was Josh living on the edge. He touched many lives while here on earth. The family would like to thank God for all the people He brought into Joshua's life. He will always be remembered as a fun, loving, caring, giving and thoughtful person. He never knew a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His smile was his imprint on your heart, no matter what, he always had a smile which will never be forgotten. Joshua was well loved by his family, friends and acquaintances. He will be greatly missed. He loved his girlfriend, Laura and her daughter, Aubrey with all of his heart. The family would like to thank Nichole Hughes and Billy who work for Halliburton for being by his side when he died. We appreciate all that you did and tried to do for Joshua. If he were here, he'd tell you himself. A viewing will take place on Friday, September 19th at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary from 4 - 7:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 20, at 3:00 p.m. at the Church on the Rock. Anyone who knew Joshua and family are welcome to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joshua Daniel Burris memorial at any Grand Valley National Bank.
