I want to add that Kay would sew one-of-a-kind pillows with cute poems about Friendships or other "sayings". She would take them to Larchwood and spend time visiting my Mom. She was so thoughtful. When Mom passed I took all the little pillows and had them cleaned and I took them home. Several are on my bed now, my favorite one is a birdhouse and bird that says "You bring a Smile to my Heart". I am sure she brought smiles to my Mom. Shirley Hocker Hickman

I met Kay through my sister, Elaine; they were best friends for years. I met Kay one summer when I went home to Grand Junction to see about my Mother who was at Larchwood Rest Home. I just happened to meet Kay at that time. I always enjoyed my visits home and that time was special as I liked Kay as much as Elaine did. When Elaine passed away in 2012, I would still meet Kay when I was in Grand Junction. We had many great times visiting all the antique stores, plus any gift store -- and then we would have a good lunch and visit. Kay would show me the new homes and stores that had sprung up that I did not know about. We always had a great time, and became good friends too. I met her grandchildren and got lots of cute great grandchildren´s pictures through messages that we communicated with on the internet.

I will miss her so much. She was a great lady and her lovely soul will surely be in Heaven.

Sadly,
Shirley Hickman
