I was surprised and very saddened to hear of Ken’s death. Ken was an impressive innovator and exemplary researcher and together with Bonnie, a prolific author of publications addressing the chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, and applied technology of fireworks, specifically, and pyrotechnics, in general. These publications have substantially advanced the knowledge of many technical aspects of fireworks, for which the international fireworks community has profoundly benefitted. To Bonnie, my deepest sympathies.
