I remember Kerry growing up as he lived next store to where I had lived with my family. We did the normal things that kids would do together of playing basketball, football, rode his three wheeler (which I regretfully was not good at riding and had the fire dept check me out. I was riding a 3 wheeler for the first time and I gunned it too fast running into a tree lol. The three wheeler survived miraculously and I was traumatized lol. Those were good times though). The King family overall were the best neighbors that we could ever have as far as being open to each other and having great comrade, which is something you do not see much anymore with neighbors in this day in age. I would also always remember Kerry SR going and feeding his horses Abe and Trapper and letting them eat anything that would be in Kerry SR's hand lol (good memories). Kerry and family had moved to Gunnison, CO due to Kerry SR's job with the US forest service. The whole family came down to visit one time (including Melissa who was still alive during that time)! It was very nice to see all of them. As time went on I came to know about Melissa's tragic passing and could not imagine what Kerry and his parents were going through. That was the last time I spoke with Kerry and his parents was in regard to Melissa's passing.
Over the years I had lost touch with Kerry and family. I went on Facebook from time to time to see if I was able find Kerry and I could not. But then after googling him today (May 16, 2017) I am sad to hear the news that he had passed away so early in life. This was a kind person who I got to know growing up. I was happy to hear that after reading his obituary that he had married and had two children. After reading the comments on here it seemed like he had touched many other lives as well. He's in a better place with his sister compared to the craziness that happens in this world, but I would've much rather seen him alive and to have caught up with him. My deep condolences are to his wife and children whom I have never met and I pray that you all will be looked over.
To Kerry, SR and Debbie: My deepest condolences are especially to you folks. I can not imagine the pain and the loss that you all have endured over the years going from Melissa and now Kerry, Jr. If you're reading this let me give you my email address so that you can e-mail me and possibly exchange phone numbers. My immiediate family has been going through some stuff too over the years mainly with mental illness which I will not discuss on this forum as this is for Kerry Sherman. My mom lives down the street from where I live and all of us in my family that are still around would love to give out our support and to chat as it has been a very long time since talking with you all. My email is [email protected].
For now I will light a candle tonight in honor of Kerry Sherman King! God bless to his wife, children and parents.

The loss of one you love dearly-no words are adequate. We pray he loved the Lord and that in his last moments he embraced our heavenly Father and called out to him. Grief is a process as you well know. The blessing he leaves behind are his two boys. Though we never met Kerry, we have always heard of him through Ralph. Miles keep us apart physically today, but we will be praying for your strength to do what you have to do. Our deepest sympathy to both Kerry and Deb and to Kerry's wife and boys. May God watch over you all.
