Michael Higgins Obituary

Jake Higgins January 30, 1983 – July 25, 2010 Michael Jacob Higgins, age 27 passed away on July 25, 2010. He was born on January 30, 1983 in Grand Junction to Michael Lee and Carla Ann (McLauchlin) Higgins. He graduated from Central High School in 2001 and was well known and loved throughout the valley. Jake was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved life, sports, adventure and everyone that surrounded him. Although his time on this earth was too short, he touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. Live on Jake, we love you! Jake will be missed by his parents, Mike and Carla Higgins of Grand Junction; brothers, Mac Higgins of Grand Junction; Ryan Marsh of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Rusti Gallagher of Grand Junction, CO; nieces, Madison Higgins, Sophia Higgins, Olivia Gallagher, Peighton Higgins and his girlfriend, Shannon Doty of Grand Junction. A celebration of Jake's life will be held on Thursday, July 29th at 5:00 p.m. at his parents' home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jake Higgins Memorial Fund, c/o Michael Higgins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Jake was a neighbor and friend to our son, BIlly. We watched our boys grow up together, and they shared many good times. We are all devastated by Jake leaving us so early.
