Michael Milholland Obituary

Michael Charles Milholland February 1, 1956 - December 28, 2024 Michael C. Milholland left this world to be with Jesus on December 28, 2024 at Hope West Care Center in Grand Junction after a long battle with cancer. Michael (Mike) was born on February 1, 1956 in Grand Junction, CO to Charles and Frances Milholland. He was one of three children (older sister Carlie and younger brother Dan).

He enjoyed his time growing up participating in several sports and learning the value of hard work. He graduated from Central High School in 1974. On February 13, 1976 he married Eva Kathleen (Kathy) Smith. He continued to further his education at Arizona State University receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Art Education. When Mike and Kathy returned from Arizona back to their home in Grand Junction, Mike worked on the railroad where he would eventually retire 35 years later. In March of 1980, Mike and Kathy welcomed their son Brandon into the world. Then in February of 1983 they were blessed by the arrival of their daughter Erin. Raising Brandon and Erin was the number one priority for Mike and Kathy. Mike spent countless hours coaching little league teams. His main focus in coaching was to better the lives of the kids by providing them with fun, confidence and a strong desire to be competitive in their lives. On August 21, 2007 tragedy struck the family with the loss of Kathy. Mike and Kathy were married for 31 years. He later married Shari Brown on June 5, 2009. Mike continued to be an avid sports enthusiast playing golf as much as possible and acquiring cherished friends. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids participate in their events. His coaching continued as he assisted his son at the high school level in football. Mike was a man who believed in God and his son Jesus Christ. He had good morals, values and ethics which he passed on to many others.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles and his wife Kathy. He is survived by his mother Frances, his sister Carlie (Coby, Barry, Tyson, Trent), his brother Dan (Kristy, Kristal, Kaitlyn), his son Brandon (Sara) Kimberley (granddaughter), Matt (grandson-in-law), his daughter Erin Bishop (Tommy) Lydia (granddaughter) Gwen (granddaughter) Avery (granddaughter), his wife Shari, Isaac Brown (step-son) Michaelyn (granddaughter), Kamryn (granddaughter), Taunya Taylor (step-daughter) (Chris) Harper(granddaughter), Grayson (grandson), Paisley (granddaughter).

Very sad to see this. Mike was always a pleasure to work and to run into later at the golf course. My condolences to Shari and the family.
