SHANE - God's Gracious Gift

As I think back, God blessed your mom and me with our first baby boy. It is beyond our comprehension, all the things that God was doing for us, as we prepared for you. You were so loved before you were ever born. You know we were just children ourselves, in fact people would say, " they are kids with a kid", so much growing we had to do. You were a wonderful little baby you always were very happy and sweet. There´re so many precious memories that we have. As I speak, I can't even imagine touching the hem of the garment everything about you, from you being in diapers to your first Christmas´s taking your first steps. Wrapping your grandpa and grandma's heart around your finger. Or you riding your first pony, tractor, tricycle, motorcycle. These are all precious memories to treasure, and you will notice they are not in order. Like loving your first little hamster to death. Riding the go-kart with your daddy, flying kites, having great fun snow sledding at Old Grand Mesa, especially being pulled up a hill on the sled. Going camping with your daddy and your brother knowing you were having a great time, seeing your dirty little face. It wouldn't be long before your daddy and mommy, would get saved, then your life would change again. Your mommy and daddy realized that you were a gift from God, and we would give you back to him, with our pledge to raise you in the nurture and the admonition of Our Lord, with thankful hearts realizing you were only on loan to us.
As a deacons kid at Cherry Creek it was comforting to know you were on special adventures helping the preachers kid while we were in choir. Mom and I still have many awards that you were given during your time at the Christian school. One special award that stands out to me was you earning the special recognition for Good Christian Conduct. It seems to me that you always had a heart's desire to share the gospel with other people even though there were times you crawled through the rafters and help Cade and Mr. O´breck better understand vending machines. God would soon lead us again moving us to Grand Junction Colorado.
Here there would be many new adventures, and schools, it seemed like it didn't take long and the little boy playing in the mud would be helping his daddy build Christmas presents working in the church, leading the congregation in song, singing specials, taking high school photos, having special adventures with new friends, football weightlifting. Your teen years would all seem to happen so fast, especial the memory taking an hammer to the head to be a blessing. Son you are God Gracious Gift to us. Our Lord and Saviour has imprinted your life on our heart, We, love you son so very much.
God has given you a special soulmate. Our Julie and has multiplied your love giving us wonderful grandkids. You all have been our joy through the years. Having church with the family in your house, helping you with special projects, putting shingles on the roof seeing the shop you build, building steps inside your house, grandkids popping like popcorn on their beds so excited hanging upside down on the swing sets. This time also seemed to pass so quickly.
God moving you again into new adventures, homeschooling our grandkids teaching them about the Lord. Each one of them coming to their testimony of salvation. What precious memories we have vacationing together, what precious memories we have from serving the Lord together, at the Grand Valley Baptist Church. The battles that the Lord took us through together at knowing that our hearts desire was to serve his people to protect his church and our families. There's just something about knowing that our God gives us peace in the midst of this storm when we walk with him. Just knowing were never alone and that all things work together for good to them that are called according to his purpose. We are more than conquerors. We were proud of you when you stood up and alone taking a stance about the COVID vaccination, that took character. And we will continue to be proud of you. We know your hearts desire is to continue keeping your eyes upon Jesus ( He knows our frame). Our Lord and Saviour has promised us it does not appear what great things he has for us. God is good, I know that there are other adventures we cannot comprehend just around the bend that we will have together and there is purpose in all that he does.
We love you son
