Steven Smythe Obituary

Steven B. Smythe September 9, 1985 – October 11, 2013 Steven B. Smythe, age 28, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away Friday, October, 11th, 2013, due to a head injury from a motorcycle accident. Steven was born September 9th, 1985 (as a Dallas Cowboys fan) in Colorado Springs. He was adventurous, loved the outdoors and proved to be an achiever at the goals he set his mind to. Steven had overcome many struggles during his lifetime and was taken from us at a young age. Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Pete Flores, and a very close friend, T.J. Surviving him is his mother, Joni Gorman; his father, Steven Smythe; his siblings; sisters, Kimber Smythe, Isabella Smythe, and Aryana Gorman, and brothers, Andrew Gorman and Jonathan Smythe. Steven was blessed to have two father figures in his life, Tom Gorman and Shane Peterson. Also surviving him are his grandparents, Pamela and Fred Smythe and Joyce Flores, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Steven attended Palisade High School as well as Colorado Mesa University. He was a Service Tech at FMC Technologies. This position allowed him to travel around the world and experience many different cultures. He was a success at everything he did. Friends will be received Friday, October 18th, 2013, at Clifton Christian Church located at 615 I-70 Business Loop, Clifton, CO, 81520. A viewing will take place from 10 - 11:00 a.m. and the service will be held immediately afterwards at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Don Mechem officiating. Services are provided by Mesa Funeral Service.
