Terry G. Heers

July 20, 1940 - March 14, 2021

Terry was born in Madison, WI, but raised in Lexington, NE, and Denver, CO. He was very active in youth groups and choirs at Central Presbyterian Church in Denver. He served in the Colorado National Guard, U.S. Navy (Amphibious Attack Force and Nuclear Submarines), and U.S. Army as Chief Warrant Officer in Vietnam. In his civilian career, he worked as a Field Engineer, Superintendent and Construction Manager, Start-Up Engineer and Consultant on commercial nuclear power plants, petrol-chemical plants, pharmaceutical plants and an oil shale plant. He developed and owned a specialty staffing company which provided technical support personnel in 30 states and Puerto Rico. Upon selling his business, he discovered retirement was not his cup of tea, so proudly served as Director of Church Administration at First Presbyterian Church until his second retirement in late 2019.

He married the love of his life, Roberta "Bobbie," on September 21, 1959, and had two girls, Kimberly "Kim" (Jeff) Owens and Misty (Bob) Jolly, who in turn blessed him with three granddaughters, Jordanne, Amanda, and Shelby; grandson, Garrett; great-grandson, Christopher; and he will now be a guardian angel to his great-granddaughter due in September. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he is survived by sister, Almagail "Gail" Fickenscher (Keith), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Alfaretta "Freddie" Clevenger (Bus), and father, Aubrey Lyle Heers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
