Lyn (Brinkmeyer) Griffin

July 26, 2025

I was thinking of Alys Jo just the other day. Our family moved to 233 Derbyshire Road in Waterloo in 1954. The McGowans lived across the street. I remember mom telling me about how one day she was outside and Alys Jo (who was 12 or 13) came bounding over across the street and said, "Hello, my name is Alys Jo and I love to do babysitting!" So she babysat for my sister and I many times. That's me - Lyn Brinkmeyer Griffin I was almost 2 in the picture. Now I live in Springfield, Oregon. I was sorry to hear of her passing, but was so impressed with the life she lived.
